Ok, is the needle the way to go when getting your cartilage pierced?

I play volleyball year-round so it can’t be too painful. IWhere are good piercing locations? I hear Claire’s and Icing use the gun…Thanks for your help!

DO NOT let anyone near you with a piercing gun. They cannot be fully sanitized b/c they are unable to be put into an autoclave which sterilizes equipment and the jewelry is not sharp enough to make a clean hole so you will have more pain and longer healing time. ** Go to a professional piercer ** (Clares and other mall stores are not professionals. You might as well do it for free yourself at home if you’re thinking about going to Clares) A professional piercer will use a sterilized needle which is sharp enough to pierce a clean hole so that you wont have ripped flesh left around the piercing making it more difficult to heal. Its less painful and the jewelry they will give you will better accomodate swelling which is the painful part of the process much better than cheap Clare’s earring studs. Trust me on this. I’ve had my cartilage pierce by a gun and a needle and the gun piercing never fully healed.
