how do I get a book published that covers my embroidery and quilting work?
I design quilt and embroidery projects for the home. I have a lot of wonderful ideas that I would like to get published in a book, however, I do not know how to get in contact with honest and established agents. Are there any agents that deal specifically with this kind of work? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Both Martingale Press and C&T publishing (both publishers of quilt and craft books) have an open submission policy. They have a guidelines available on their websites for submitting book ideas to them or give them a call and they will send you the information. I went through this process with Martingale and have a book schedule to publish next Spring. Give it a try!

The Brother SE350 computerized embroidery-and-sewing machine could be considered a good starter machine for someone just entering the wonderful arena of machine embroidery.
What I say is that it is terribly user friendly.

The machine itself is reasonably light-weight, you can take it around with you with little effort and it does not need anything special with regards to needles or bobbins.
It’s been suggested that it’s best to buy the PED basic software when you buy the machine as this enables you to have access to the thousands of designs on the web.
To call 8,000 designs only one or two is not understating the case, there are thousands of designs available to you.
This machine really is excellent for a newbie, the instructions are so easy to understand.
You get everything with the machine to get you started, all except fabric. You will have to provide that, otherwise everything is there, nothing to hold you back.
You can use either, whichever is appropriate for what you are doing at the time.
The best way to start when you get your new machine is to make the effort to really read the manual and watch the DVD. Then start out just trying the different stitch options maybe do a little embroidery. If you do not dive into things you’ll get to know this actual machine’s individual functions. I suspect that the use of craft felt is good for practising because you don’t need to use stablizer fabric with it, it is thick enough.
One of the great functions of this bro SE350 is that you are warned if you’re screwing up, not just that but you are told the way to fix the problem.
There’s not a huge amount of room when you come to switch feet or thread the needle by hand. You need to be careful also when you remove the bobbin cover – it is small and can be simply lost when you have a massive stitching job on a tight schedule.
The machine would be perfect if it was regarded as having a scanner.
occasionally when trying to embroider a succession of words you could find the machine stopping after each letter, but another time it’ll complete the word no problem.
The in-built designs are a bit old-hat now and should be modified because I do not believe they’ll appeal much.
Having related all this machine is great value for cash and will give you hours of fun and satisfaction from the pro looking results you can produce.
